The Creation of HDMS Digital Internet Radio

HDMS FM Internet Radio Station is a 24-hour digital radio station based Philadelphia, PA and New Castle, Delaware, and is represented by professional on-air personalities. HDMS FM found its origins through Mr. Vince Horsey in 1995. When Vince Horsey decided on the help he would need to maintain a professional radio station, he contacted Mr. Simone Malone. In December 2005, Simone Malone, an experienced and popular radio broadcaster and trainer became the first and only applicant. Messrs. Horsey and Malone concluded their first meeting with the commitment of mutual understanding and communication. Both men understood each other and what it would take to create the quality station they envisioned.

Vince Horsey became the CEO and Simone Malone took on the responsibility of General Manager. Vince Horsey knew he could build a professional organization under the leadership and 20 plus years of radio experience Simone came with. Simone brought in a superior staff to support the vision of the station.

Van Brown, a radio colleague, was the first to join the team. While the Van and Simone expressed their radio personalities on the airwaves, Simone saw the need to join forces with more qualified staff. His vision of hiring more employees came just in time to handle the progression of the station. Each employee hired offered their own radio expertise that benefited and maintained the vision of HDMS FM Radio. HDMS FM went from featuring quality music to outstanding interviews of church ministries, gospel artists, writers, jazz artists, authors and a host of other artistic and business professionals. The loyalty between each staff member is the bond that continues to keep the HDMS FM staff members in a healthy and productive relationship.

Having started with two on-air personalities, the staff has grown to several radio personalities, each bringing their own unique style. HDMS has grown from featuring gospel and R&B to now featuring jazz, gospel jazz, oldies, talk shows, and ministries. With an open mind, Simone Malone welcomes new and unique programming that will allow the station to step “outside the box”. Having your own broadcast on HDMS is a very easy concept.
